This week HR Certificaiton Institute (HRCI) will announce a number of fantastic certification program updates and enhancements. One of the changes directly benefits you as an HR professional outside the U.S. with a Human Resource Business Professional ® (HRBP ®) or Human Resource Management Professional ® (HRMP ®) credential.
The two certifications are being rebranded and renamed later this month:
• HRBP will be renamed Professional in Human Resources - International℠ (PHRi℠ ).
• HRMP will be renamed Senior Professional in Human Resources - International℠ (SPHRi℠ ).
Better Recognition of Your HR Mastery
As a 40-year-old certification organization, HRCI is synonymous with “the proven designation for the professional in human resources.” The Professional in Human Resources (PHR ®) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR ®) certifications, for example, are the most recognized HR credentials in the world. HRCI is rebranding HRBP and HRMP to more fully fit the new PHRi and SPHRi designations into the gold-standard family of HR credentials.
Based on much feedback from the global HR community, the “i” in PHRi and SPHRi more clearly represents your HR experience outside of the United States. The renamed credentials will also be more searchable and recognizable in the international business community.
The designation holders may begin to use the new PHRi or SPHRi credential on Monday, February 1, 2016. At that time the HRCI website will be updated with the new certifications, including the new digital badges.
